Hard to tell if that makes this the worst casting or the best casting. Consensus seems to be that Dakota Johnson does a better job that Dornan, tho, but I'll have to confirm for myself. Those who hadn't read the book thought we were watching a horror/suspense film, and I kept thinking of how much better Jamie Dornan was in The Fall. For fsog he basically played a flat version of the Spector character, only somehow the audience is supposed to find the serial killer romantic in the movie and repugnant in the tv series. If EL was such a control freak about casting I wonder how she missed the easy parallels between the leading man's two best know roles. Aren't there insanely well paid film studio movie star researchers who make silly amounts of money figuring these things out?
